Come celebrate the Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood this year! Visit “Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” and “Grinchmas,” which runs daily from Friday, November 26 through Sunday, January 9.
**Note: holiday dates have been extended to January 9!**
We were so happy to celebrate the holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood again! We just love visiting Universal Studios Hollywood especially during cooler months. If you’ve been waiting to visit the park, now is the perfect time. And as soon as you enter, head straight to Who-ville!
If you’re a fan of the Grinch, you will LOVE how Universal Studios Hollywood recreated Who-ville. Be sure to have your cameras ready, because once you enter you’ll find so many photo opportunities, including Who-ville Whos …ready to chat and take selfies.
*Tip: get in line to meet with The Grinch early, the line will get longer towards the evening. And don’t forget to get in the other line to meet his faithful dog Max.*
Also, look for the Who-vile Post Office to write and send a postcard to The Grinch.
For every postcard mailed, Universal Studios Hollywood’s Discover a Star Foundation will make a donation to School on Wheels which benefits homeless youth in Southern California.
And you can’t miss the Topsy-turvy “Grinchmas” tree, twisting and turning over 65 feet in height. It’s a different feel (that you don’t want to miss) when you come back at night for their nightly tree lighting accompanied by a snowfall flurry. Look for the schedule posted as you enter Who-ville.
Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
If you’ve been following my family, then you know how much we love Universal Studios Hollywood’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Walking through this part of the park (with butterbeer in our hands) is our favorite thing to do, especially at night. And every night during the Holidays you can catch the “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” dazzling light show. Be sure to check the schedule for showtimes.
If you want to stay away from the crowd (it does get crowded), head to “Three Broomsticks” to grab Holiday-themed fare, don’t forget your hot butterbeer, and enjoy your meal with a show in their outdoor dining area. Be sure to bundle up! We had a great view even though it wasn’t the front of the castle.
Earlier during the day, you can watch the Acappella Frog Choir featuring Hogwarts students performing harmonized holiday themed songs.
New Year’s EVE at USH
Celebrate the new year and ring in 2022 at Universal Studios Hollywood’s festive EVE event, the biggest party in Hollywood, on Friday, December 31 with extended hours until 2:00 a.m. EVE is included in the price of theme park admission and is a special park-wide celebration that invites guests to spend the day and party by night while enjoying its popular and award-winning rides and attractions.
Starting at 9:00 p.m., the theme park transitions into party central as multiple entertainment hubs will energize guests with live music and DJs, playing everything from pop, rock and hip-hop to EDM to Latin music. Plus, iconic photo ops around the park will allow guests to capture and share their memories of the special night. The event culminates with a traditional New Year’s Eve countdown and dazzling fireworks display.
A selection of food and beverages, including desserts, champagne, beer, wine and cocktails, as well as 2022 memorabilia will be available for purchase.
