Exciting new things are happening at Universal Studios Hollywood this Summer…and my family had a blast checking it out! Have you been there recently?
A visit to The Entertainment Capital of L.A. includes a movie-based Theme Park and Studio Tour plus Universal CityWalk®, an entertainment, shopping and dining complex.
4 New Reasons to Visit Universal Studios Hollywood this Summer
It’s been awhile since our last visit, so you can imagine how excited we were to experience all the new offerings!

The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash! Ride
A stroll along the cleverly themed Pets Place brings guests to the front of Katie’s NYC apartment building where the innovative ride resides. This all-new tech-savvy adventure inspired by Illumination’s blockbuster The Secret Life of Pets films, answered the question, “What are your pets really doing when you’re not at home?
Fans of the movie (like us) are taken on a fun journey to meet Max, Snowball, Gidget, Chloe and other adorable characters. They did a great job bringing them to life! You are immersed in their world, once you hop onto your cardboard box (2 riders per ride) as they help you get adopted.
Minimum Height Req: 34″ (86 cm)

Tip: Download the Universal Studios Hollywood app, its FREE, to access Virtual Line. Choose when you want to ride and spend less time in the actual line. Its available for this ride and select attractions.
Jurassic World The Ride with Indominus Rex
This ride features an original storyline that takes guests on a breathtaking excursion through the theme park as depicted in Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s film, Jurassic World. It soars to new heights with the addition of iconic dinosaurs from the movie, including the colossal Indonminus Rex and the magnificent aquatic Mosasaurus in her natural habitat.
We love this ride so much! You can read my Family Guide to Jurassic World The Ride, here. I wrote the guide prior to the addition of the Indominius Rex…and WOW what an upgrade to the attraction!
Yesterday’s visit was also the first time my Dino-loving kid, Ronan, went on it! His face was in awe when he saw the Indominus Rex come face-to-face with T-Rex…and then we dropped! We luckily didn’t get too wet.
