Gamers, this one’s for you! Pikmin 3 Deluxe is now available on Nintendo Switch. Have you played it? We were graciously gifted a Switch Digital Code to review the game and spoiler…my boys love playing it! The game is an adventure for all ages to enjoy.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe
Grow your squad of adorable Pikmin and save your planet!
Game Story
After crash landing on the mysterious planet PNF-404, three intrepid explorers, Alph, Brittany and Charlie, are separated and forced to explore the beautiful, yet hostile environment around them.
As they search for each other and ways to survive the explorers encounter some colorful and curious alien life forms: Pikmin. These Pikmin become allies to Alph, Brittany and Charlie, assisting them to solve puzzles, navigate environment hazards and gather fruit to create life-saving juices.
What’s a Pikmin?
Pikmin are super cute, tiny, plantlike creatures that inhabit the planet PNF-404. They are curious and are super helpful to the explores. They are loyal and follow every order you give them (including life threatening ones). The kids love to whistle for their help! And they come in different types, each with its own special abilities…so players need to make sure they’re using the correct Pikmin for each task.
The Enemies
Planet PNF-404 is also filled with wildlife that will constantly try to attack and EAT the explores…as well as Pikmin! Players need to strategically use different types of Pikman to defeat them.
Kids Review
First, I have to say, I love this game for the boys. It’s fun and adorable…and they get to play together with its two-player mode! And with the Nintendo Switch, they can play anywhere. If you’re not familiar with the Switch, the game console has 3 play styles: TV Mode, Tabletop Mode, Handheld Mode.
I also love that they’re keeping track of different Pikmin with drawings and data.
Caiden’s thoughts…
Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a fun game because, you explore, gather and retrieve objects with the help of Pikmin! This game is also good for younger kids (like my 5 year-old brother) because it helps them problem solve.
I also like that the game comes in different play modes: Bingo Battle, Story Mode, Mission Mode, and Battle Mode.
Favorite Pikmin: Water Pikmin.
Ronan’s thoughts…
This game is so fun because I get to collect lots of Pikmin!
Favorite Pikmin: Winged Pikmin.
