When you live in a house filled with boys – things get competitive. Now imagine a fun and family-friendly space that’s filled with lots of games to get your challenge on. We recently checked out Two Bit Circus and it is our new favorite place to play.
What’s Two Bit Circus?
Two Bit Circus is a “micro-amusement” park located in the LA Arts District. It’s an immersive world where you’ll find arcade games, multi-person virtual reality, and escape rooms. It’s basically a haven for gamers. There’s also a food & bar area and lounge sections to host special events, like birthday parties.
Best Time To Go
On weekends, Two Bit Circus opens at 1pm and I think that’s the best time to go with your family. There’s a free parking lot provided but if it’s full, there’s ample street parking.
After 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, you must be 18+. And occasionally the park is closed for special events and private parties, so call ahead before you visit.
Our Favorite Games
Once you purchase and load your playing card – get ready! There’s something for everyone – but unfortunately I have to point out that VR games and escape rooms are for older kids, 8+.
The games in the Midway section are our favorite, especially the Pop-Balloon game and the 4-player race train. It’s immersive and gets your whole body moving. Just picture this family of 4 getting loud and trying to beat one another. Don’t miss out this section. I guarantee…lots of smiles while playing.
There’s also a ton of kid-friendly Arcade games and classic pinball machines.
Both Danny and Caiden loved playing Beat Saber, a VR game that you hit notes with your light saber. You can’t miss it – there’s usually a line for it. They also had so much fun battling with snowballs inside the world of Cold Clash, located in the Arena: Hologate. It’s highly recommended to make online reservations for the VR experiences, if you don’t get a chance to, make sure to head over to The Arena as soon as you get there.
Food & Drinks
I love how Two Bit Circus offers food and drinks to purchase. Gamers get hungry and this place is a step-up from the standard arcade food we’re used to. They have sharable bites like Street Style Corn on the Cob and Hawaiian Grilled Chicken sliders. You’ll find sweets like ice cream sandwiches made with fresh baked cookies and gelato. There’s also a full bar with signature cocktails and on Friday nights, you can order your drink from a robot bartender.
