Harry Potter fans are gonna LOVE the new “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” projection experience – happening on select nights inside “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” at Universal Studios Hollywood!
The show illuminates Hogwarts castle nightly from April 13 – 28 and then return from May 25 – 27.
Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle
Caiden and I had a chance to preview the show and it was MAGICAL…regardless what house you represent. The display of lights and special effects bring to life dark creatures and villains, including Lord Voldemort! AND the music by Academy Award®-winning composer John Williams will send chills down your spine.
Don’t worry, its not scary for the young viewers! Caiden is a new fan and wasn’t scared since the Dementors, Death Eaters and spiders were “too far away” from us.
| Dark Arts Viewing Tips |
Once it got dark, people started lining up for the show but I think the further away you are from the castle, the better! And there’s several viewing times, so if you miss the first one, don’t worry! The show is about 9 minutes long. We watched the 8:30pm show and took advantage of the very short wait time for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride! Keep in mind that the Flight of the Hippogriff ride is closed during the show, so head over right after its done.
Before the show, get into the Harry Potter spirit and enjoy some Butter Beer (frozen or hot). Also if you’ve got an interactive wand from Ollivanders, cast some spells while the Dark Arts music is playing in the background.
