Hey LA! Mark you calendars, because BLOOM – an interactive pop-up art exhibition is coming to Griffith Park, June 22, 23, and 24th. Unlike other exhibits – you’ll find these large-scale art installations ALL outdoors. BLOOM is also partnering with The Valley Hive to help bring awareness to protect our local honeybees with educational presentations!
“With a focus on handcrafted art, BLOOM aims to leave your spirit uplifted and your camera full of fun pictures. From edible flowers and delectable treats to hands-on workshops, food trucks and musical guests, we will celebrate Los Angeles and the outrageous beauty of flowers.”
We had the opportunity to attend BLOOM’s media preview yesterday and it was a lot of fun! My boys love being outdoors and this was a great way to spend the day immersed with ART. Since this was a preview, we only got a chance to experience just some of the art installations that’s coming in June. From making wishes under giant dandelions to a bathtub filled with lavender – I can’t wait to see what else will BLOOM!
After taking a lot of Instagramable photos and playing around a bee hive maze, the boys got crafty…which they love to do for a much needed down time. They got to decorate small flower pots and pick out a flower for it…and make a terrarium!
Our preview ended with edible flower treats and a conversation with The Valley Hive about the importance of local bees! I loved how they brought a bee hive (along with the Queen Bee) because my boys love honey and this was a great way for them to learn to respect bees.
