The Holidays are here! So if you need a well-deserved break (from all that shopping) to do something with the family, Sony Pictures Animation’s The Star is now playing in theaters. We got to attend its World Premiere earlier this month and it was great way for us to kick-off the Holiday season. AND for my kids to learn about the meaning of Christmas, from the animals’ perspective.
The Star is about a small but brave donkey named Bo who yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a lovable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas.
The kids and I loved it except Ronan (who’s two years old) did get a little scared with the two dogs (the antagonists) but with a little reassurance he was fine…it’s a happy ending for all the animals!
After the movie, head over here to download these fun activities and more!
