With school now in session, I’ve been very busy balancing two kids with two different schedules. Preparing clothes and lunch the night before has helped but I also have to have a game plan for after school!
After-school is when I have to be focused. From helping with homework to prepping for dinner and the next school day, its a busy time! And since I have a very hungry first grader after-school…I also have to be ready with a healthy snack at home!
Luckily, prepping a healthy after-school treat is easy…especially when I incorporate Cheerios in the recipe! Cheerios is made with 100% whole grain oats (like oatmeal!), which makes it rich in nutrients like fiber and protein. With no artificial flavors and no artificial colors…its a win, win! The kids love the taste and I love the ingredients. Oh! and did I mention this treat is like ICE CREAM!!
One of my favorite go-to healthy treat are these:
Mini Frozen Bananas with Cheerios
Ingredients:
Bananas
Yogurt (any flavor)
Cheerios (for this recipe I combined Chocolate and Protein)
Directions:
Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Peel and cut Bananas into 3 sections and insert a wooden stick into each one. Dip each banana into the yogurt and top it with Cheerios. Place the bananas onto the tray and Freeze for about an hour or until frozen. Once you remove the bananas from the freezer, serve immediately and ENJOY!
