Summer is almost over and that means Caiden will be starting First grade soon! We’ve been slowly getting ready for the new school year – just last week, we bought him his very own desk. Not gonna lie but I had tears in my eyes.
We’re also prepping for the transition with a little Summer cleaning by donating stuff we don’t use anymore, all while supporting Caiden’s school! Involving my boys to help donate their gently used clothes, books, toys, and baby goods will hopefully teach them to care more about their community, including their school.
How to Lend your School a Helping Hand
Using products like Reynolds Kitchens and Hefty who proudly support the Box Tops for Education initiative, is helping schools like mine raise money for supplies, technology and more.
Collecting Box Tops is a simple and easy way to help support your school. All you have to do is purchase products with Box Tops, clip them from the package, send them to school in a baggie and each Box Top is worth 10 cents.
We used the Hefty Trash Bags to collect donation goods – it’s strong, durable, and it’s a Box Top product. You can also find Box Tops on Hefty Foam Plates and Hefty Cups—all things I need to make life easier during the busy school year!
When it comes to cooking and baking, you can also find Box Tops on most Reynolds Kitchens™ products like Parchment Paper, Oven Bags, Slow Cooker Liners and Bakeware Pans. After our long day of organizing and dropping-off our donation goods, the Reynolds Kitchens Cookie Baking Sheets came in handy when baking cookies for my boys. The pre-cut parchment paper made cleaning so much easier for this exhausted Mama!
So next time you shop, make sure its a Box Top product and here’s more ways to help your child’s school!

My kids school has monthly contests with box tops. Whichever class brings in the most that month will win a donut party or something! Fun stuff! This year I have two kids going though so now they'll have to split them up!
I've seen these before and I honestly never paid any mind until now. A great and easy way to support our schools. Thank you for sharing.
my son's school has a contest each October or November (I can't remember when exactly) that each class gets to submit as many box tops as they can to win a pizza party! I think it's great to support the schools. they really need all the help they can get!
This is such a great idea. I wish our school would promote this more!
i can't even believe for a second back to school is almost here – i personally wish for an endless summer – i always save the box tops for my niece to bring into school – she loves bringing them in & feeling like she's contributing
These are great tips to lend schools a helping hand. I like the idea of this a lot. Hope someone special wins!
Our school has contests per classroom for these! Too bad I will have to split them up between kids this year, since my youngest is starting kindergarten, haha! Such a great use for them!
Thank you so much for the tip! Our little boy is starting kindergarten this year and i just know he will love giving some of these to his new school. thank you!
