Do you Trunk or Treat? It’s a fun alternative to Trick or Treating! So basically, kids go trick or treating from parked car to parked car in a local parking lot, often at a school or church…or in my case, a local park. They’re popular in rural places where homes are far apart, but the trend works in a big city like L.A., as well. We unfortunately live in an area surrounded by apartment buildings, so we would have to drive through traffic to get to a neighborhood that welcomes trick or treaters! So event like definitely works in our area.
Trunk or Treat is a great way for your community to get together while providing a safe place for kids to have fun while collecting their Halloween treats! And the best part…you can have fun decorating your trunk with any theme you please! Get Creative…Go Crazy! Some events offer prizes for the BEST trunks. How fun is that? It definitely gets families in the Halloween spirit.
Caiden has been going through a Pokemon phase, I just had to create a Pokemon Trunk or Treat car. It was so easy to put together, thanks to Oriental Trading!
Since there’s no Pokemon-Halloween themed products out there, I simply used Pokemon themed dessert plates and swirls decorations to help fill my trunk. I used plastic table cloths to cover up everything I didn’t want to show. Tissue hanging fans in black help make the colors POP and you can’t forget pumpkins! I used Halloween foam stickers on Pikachu & friends to dress-up for the occasion. 🙂 It was so easy! And Caiden got to help too. This made a fun afternoon of crafting.
Tip: Crafts and a treasure chest filled with toys is a great alternative to candy!
