Finally getting a chance to share Caiden’s 3rd. Birthday Party…
This year’s theme was a Buzz Lightyear Inspired-Space Ranger party at Virgina Ave Park in Santa Monica. With our warm weather, I needed a place with a Splash Pad…
the kids loved it!
The party included DIYs like his birthday crown, an Evil Emperor Zurg Pinata, favor bags, and the garlands.
Since it was a Buzz Lightyear inspired party, I incorporated stars and rocketships for my Space Ranger (who wants to be an Astronaut when he grows up).
This adorable invitation was created by Megan of Papercut Cards, visit her Etsy shop, here.
This Zurg pinata cost under $5 to make!
The dessert table included a color-block Birthday Cake
by Emilyn of Love ‘Em Sweet and Cupcakes, Marshmallow Pops, Chocolate-covered Oreo Pops, and Rice Krispy Pops by my best friend, Taryn of Petite & Sweet Treats!
I wanted to keep the backdrop simple for the dessert table so I used a Silver fringe backdrop from Oriental Trading Company. It was the perfect touch to set the tone for our Space theme. The silver tablecloth and table skirt (also from Oriental Trading Company) made the Buzz Lightyear colors, POP! I got the tissue honeycomb from Shop Sweet Lulu and added a tissue paper garland in cordinating colors inspired by their post, here.
I made Star-shaped sugar cookies and filled adorable little fry boxes from Oriental Trading Company with popcorn and yogurt stars from Trader Joes (loved that the colors were white and purple).
Like the Buzz Lightyear Silhouette? I shared the DIY here,
These DIY Favor bags were filled with a water gun, snacks, and Toy Story stickers. I also added bracelets in the girls’ bags.
I think the geometric garland that I learned how to make from Studio DIY and Lovely Indeed at West Elm, looked perfect with the Buzz theme!
There was also a craft table where guests decorated foam stars and made aliens out of yogurt cups (not pictured).

Lunch included: Pizza (of course), Croissant Sandwiches, Almond Butter & Jelly Sandwiches, Ceaser Salad and Fruits
This was one happy birthday boy!
