Father’s Day is around the corner. Are you ready? If not, I’ve got an inexpensive DIY gift to make. It’s so easy to create, the kids can help too!
DIY Father’s Day Gift
I wanted to give Danny something meaningful for his office, after all he spends most of his time there. This photo was shared on Instagram and has become a favorite of ours. You’re welcome, Danny.
The negative space was begging for a beautiful quote. With a quick Google search for Father’s Day quotes – I added a quote by Anne Geddes onto the photo using Picmonkey (it’s a great FREE site to edit photos).

What You’ll Need
Materials:
Wooden Plaque any size (got mine at Michaels)
Photo
Scissors
Mod Podge
Acrylic Paint
2 Sponge Brushes (1 for the paint/1 for the Mod Podge)
Sandpaper
Directions
Step One
Using the sandpaper, smooth out the wooden plague.
Step Two
Measure and trim your photo (if necessary) but don’t worry if it’s not perfect.
Step Three
Paint your wooden plaque and let dry.
Step Four
Apply Mod Podge to the center of the plaque and place your photo. Make sure to smooth out any bubbles before applying a coat over the photo. Wait about 20 mins before applying a second coat. I applied a total of 3 coats.
Step Five
Since one side wasn’t perfect (due to my cutting) I used sand paper to smooth out the edges on both sides…to match. The sand paper scraped some paint off so I had to repaint those areas. All the little imperfections made this project…Perfect!
Wishing all the Dads a Happy Father’s Day!
